St Luke's Presents: Hayden Thorpe Performing The Songs of Wild Beasts

Hayden Thorpe performs the Wild Beasts songbook for the first time in almost 9 years. Playing entirely solo, the shows will be an exploration of the much-loved collection in their purest form – voice and instrument, as they were written.

“I’m fortunate enough that in my daily life I will quite often encounter a kind soul who’ll tell me how much a certain Wild Beasts song, album or show has meant to them. I’ve come to learn that as time passes, the heart’s connections do not fade and the potency of the music remains strong. I’ve been missing the songs myself of late, so it felt like a ripe time to reach for the high notes and call on my hand’s muscle memory. It’s a full-circle manoeuvre as the dates perfectly align with the 20th anniversary of Wild Beasts first single release, “Brave Bulging Buoyant Clairvoyants”. I’m thrilled to be taking this moment to celebrate the shared history we all have with Wild Beasts music.” Hayden Thorpe

Why do we have a restoration Levy? Put very simply, our restoration levy is an additional charge added to your ticket price which is directly invested back into the venue. This money is used for critical maintenance, repairs, and preservation efforts to ensure the long-term sustainability of the building. As the 3rd oldest church building in Glasgow, dating back to 1836, Saint Luke's requires ongoing care and special restoration to maintain its historic character and facilities. This levy will enable us to fund essential projects that will safeguard the venue's future as a vibrant hub for live music and community events. If you would like to be kept up to date on progress with how we are using this fund then please follow us on social media @stlukesglasgow, and sign up to our mailing list where we will send out quarterly updates on the improvements that your donations are helping us make.
