Slow Burn Theatre Co: Dear Evan Hansen - Smart Stage Matinee Series

A letter that was never meant to be seen, a lie that was never meant to be told, a life he never dreamed he could have. Evan Hansen is about to get the one thing he's always wanted: a chance to finally fit in. DEAR EVAN HANSEN is the deeply personal and profoundly contemporary musical about life and the way we live it. A full-length musical about a socially anxious high school student who becomes entangled in a misunderstanding after a classmate's death, Evan finds himself telling a lie that unexpectedly brings him closer to the grieving family and earns him the connection he has always longed for. The show explores themes of loneliness, mental health, the impact of social media, and the importance of truth and belonging. Study guides for all of the Smart Stage Matinees will be available for download prior to each production (link to DOWNLOAD THE STUDY GUIDE). Recommended for Grades 8-12.
