Rouen is where Joan of Arc was tried and burned, where Monet painted the same cathedral façade more than thirty times, and where whole streets of half-timbered houses survived a war that flattened the docks. This self-guided audio tour runs from Notre-Dame Cathedral and the Gros-Horloge to Saint-Maclou and its plague cemetery, the abbey church of Saint-Ouen, the Historial Jeanne d'Arc and the Musée des Beaux-Arts. Fourteen stops across the old centre, roughly two hours at your own pace, with narration playing as you walk. Your phone is the guide, so start whenever you like and pause for a coffee whenever you want.
