Formed in 2005, the band draws inspiration from the golden era of 1940s and ’50s jazz, influenced by legends such as Louis Prima, Frank Sinatra, Sammy Davis Jr., and Harry Connick Jr.. July Lineup🎺🎙️ 3 & 4 July - Jeremy Monteiro Trio with Maya Raisha & Sean Hong Wei Generations in Conversation Come catch the Jeremy Monteiro Trio, featuring Singapore’s King of Swing Jeremy Monteiro on piano, Ben Poh on bass and Hong Chanut Techatananan on drums, together with two of Singapore’s most exciting young jazz talents — Sean Hong Wei and Maya Raisha. Both Sean and Maya are Jazz Association (Singapore) scholars currently making waves in New York City, where they are pursuing their Masters in Jazz. Sean’s debut album with Jeremy Monteiro reached the Top 20 of the USA JazzWeek charts in 2023, while Maya has been turning heads with her commanding presence and authentic, classic jazz vocal style. Don’t miss this rare meeting of three generations of Singapore jazz musicians — an evening of swing, soul, and musical conversation at the highest level. 9, 10 & 11 July - Mark Turner - Special Show The Sound of Swing & Soul Mark Turner is a jazz multi-instrumentalist working across saxophone, guitar, and voice, shaped by the rhythmic language of swing and the expressive freedom of blues-based improvisation. His musical approach is grounded in core jazz practice: phrasing that breathes, melody that leads, and improvisation shaped in response to the ensemble rather than apart from it. Based in Perth, Turner’s development as a jazz musician has been formed through ensemble performance, where interaction and listening define the centre of the music. His work alongside swing-oriented groups such as Adam Hall and the Velvet Playboys, as well as appearances with larger ensembles including the Perth Symphony Orchestra, reflects a practice shaped by both discipline and adaptability within jazz contexts.
